WIND SONG PRAYER

I prayed for God to be my lover
and He wrapped himself around me in a thousand winds,
caressing me with each of their songs.

I prayed for God to hollow me out and make me a reed
and He led me to Love that emptied
and filled me in a single breath. . ..
He kissed me
with the Knowing and the Unknowing that
I Was – I Am
Everything and Nothing
With and Without Him.

I prayed for God to show me my soul
and He made me a field of stars merging with the Infinite.
He stepped into me and broke down the doors to separateness.

I prayed for God to help me understand the journey of our souls
and in the dreamtime, He carried me Home,
allowed me for a heavenly second to hear His heartbeat
and smell the sweetness of His Spirit.

I prayed for God to show me His face
and He showed me my mirror;
shattering the illusion of all I thought I knew,
carrying it away on raven winged wind songs.
